Lee Wai Shan 李慧珊

Lee Wai Shan studied Music Composition and earned a BA in Music from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, followed by an MA in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her works span a wide range of genres, including Western and Chinese orchestral music, chamber music, electronic music, and multimedia projects. She studied composition with Prof. Clarence Mak, Dr. Lo Hau Man, Law Wing Fai, Dr. Christopher Coleman, and Dr. Christopher Keyes. She also studied piano with Hui Ling and Amelia Chan, and organ with Wong Kin Yu.

 

Lee’s works have been performed by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (2002), at the French May Arts Festival (2004), Musicarama (2006), the Asian Composers League in Wellington, New Zealand (2007), and the Sonoimágenes Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2007). In 2021, she was commissioned by Concerto da Camera for its first series of online videos, In Search of Pipe Organs in Hong Kong and Their Communities.
